This position is based within the Learning and Development team and reports directly to the Manager, Global Distance Learning. As the instructional designer for Nuance University, this role is responsible for working with the Nuance University team to plan, design, and create e-learning modules and learning assets associated with the professional and technical learning needs of Nuance’s business divisions.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work closely with the Nuance University team, client stakeholders and subject matter experts to:
*Collaborate with team members and clients to determine effective instructional strategies, appropriate objectives, logical content organization, meaningful scenarios, and effective instructional media.
*Foster strong business partner/SME relationships; use effective SME interview techniques to efficiently gather content information and feedback.
*Analyze content provided by internal clients to establish learning objectives, determine instructional strategies, co-develop e-Learning storyboards and conduct media analysis.
*Apply knowledge of adult education principles and practices to produce learning deliverables.
*Write content and media scripts to promote efficient and effective learning.
*Write engaging practice and assessment activities that match objectives.
*Communicate effectively with project team to insure that objectives, goals, and deadlines are fulfilled.
*Analyze feedback gathered during content testing.
*Assist in the planning and design of client curricula.
*Manage multiple engagements with multiple clients simultaneously.
*Work with the Manager of Global Distance *Learning to ensure programs support business objectives and the goals of the Learning and *Development team.
*Ensure customer satisfaction through follow-up, client responsiveness, and thorough communication.
*Assist in the development and implementation of communication and training plans for e-Learning initiatives.
*Provide input and ideas for Nuance University mobile learning and social networking strategy.
Qualifications:
*Minimum 3 years of instructional design experience; corporate experience strongly preferred, product training experience a plus.
*Demonstrated understanding of instructional design theories and strategies.
*Strong knowledge of online learning and distance education including practical knowledge of learning management systems; understanding of Web 2.0 technologies.
*Demonstrated success collaborating with subject matter experts and team members.
*Proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
*Ability to organize, prioritize and work effectively under pressure; proven experience managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and solving problems.
*Team-oriented with high degree of professionalism and positive approach to others.
*BA or equivalent in learning-related discipline.
