Bahrain Poly LDC & Library Manager

• Assist heads of faculty with achieving team goals.


• Assists Director (Academic/Student Services) in providing leadership for strategic planning in support of the LLDC’s mission.

Manages all aspects of LLDC’s human resources, in association with HR, including recruitment, hiring, salary placement, position descriptions and classifications, employee orientation, staff development, and performance assessment. Develops, recommends, implements and updates LLDC personnel procedures and policies; advises staff in supervisory matters including conflict resolution, performance concerns, polytechnic policies, and career development. Represents LLDC to external agencies for staff development programs.

• Assists with recommending, preparing, submitting, managing, monitoring, adjusting, reconciling and reporting operating, restricted and capital budgets of the LLDC.

Negotiates and arranges purchases, annual contracts and leases with vendors through corporate services.

• Works closely with Director Facilities and other Polytechnic departments to ensure safe, healthy, comfortable, sufficient and appropriate facilities for the LLDC collections, services, personnel, and patrons. Coordinates all major facilities projects that affect the LLDC. Serves as LLDC’s liaison to Director Facilities, and Student Services.

• Oversees student employment operations in the LLDC.

• Manages assessment activities for LLDC’s services and programs.

• Provides leadership for LLDC committees and task forces.

• Participates in fostering effective LLDC-faculty relations; collaborates with campus and external partners; collaborates with staff; represents the LLDC within the polytechnic community and external constituencies and agencies.

• Provides support to Director (Academic/Student Services) in matters related to polytechnic planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and evaluating efforts.

Creates, compiles, updates and coordinates LLDC’s annual report, statistical reports to external agencies, information for polytechnic publications and other reports.

Contributes to LLDC’s public relations and marketing efforts.

Participates in forums and cooperative efforts on behalf of the LLDC.

Coordinates selection of materials with other staff members and handles the ordering and other procedures necessary to make these new materials available to the public.

Assumes responsibility for the cataloging of new materials and the continual maintenance of the automated catalog for LLDC patrons.

• Supervises and assists other staff members with collection control, maintenance, inventory, weeding, processing, clerical work, forms, and other duties necessary in the day-to-day activities.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
